Not complaining about the unseasonably warm weather in Memphis right now, but the chances of a snow day are slim if these 50-60 degree temps continue . However, since it is technically winter, I thought I'd share an adorable idea for making "snow".
I was strolling through Chickasaw Oaks Village, which is a smaller, less cool version of Chelsea Market in NYC. A nice mix of shops and restaurants in an enclosed area... like a mall, but without chains and more aesthetically pleasing. Anyway, I came across this window in a storefront:
From what I could tell, they tied a long white string around different sized marshmallows. Repeat with about 15 different strings, and then attach them to the top of a window to give that "snow" effect. Great idea if you need some inspiration for that retail window of yours...But since it's feels like spring and the daffodils are in full bloom, here's a tip for an inexpensive "happy" for you or for someone else. Whenever I'm at the dollar store, I usually pick up a few of these small vases ($1 each) to have on hand:

Today, I cut flowers from my yard, but during the (cold) winter months, you can pick up a few stems from the florist at your local grocery store. Tie a coordinating wired ribbon around the vase, and voila! you've got a quick pick-me-up for under $5.

Happy winter or spring or whatever is where you are!!
