about us

Hi!  Welcome to Boxwoods to Boudoirs! I was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia and am currently living in Columbus with my husband and daughter.
Ever since I was a little girl, I had a passion for design. Whether it was designing scrapbooks or building multi-level tree houses in my friend's backyard, I knew that I would be a part of the design world in my future.  My love for art and design flourished while living in Florence, Italy during my college years.  After returning from Italy, I worked at a sporting goods store in Oxford, MS designing the Ole Miss sports programs apparel as well as local and university organizations.  Here I fell in love with design and haven't slowed down since.  Design is my creative outlet and you will hardly ever see me without my computer in my lap!  Even while driving, I am looking at billboards and wondering "what font is that?" or noticing how certain patterns or shapes could be turned into a beautiful design on paper.  My mind is always designing and I feel so blessed to love my job as much as I do!
After becoming a mommy, I took a break from the work place and decided to stay at home and start my own business, Cam Addison Designs - Add. It. On Paper.  I have a passion for art and love bringing life to simple visions by adding them on paper.  Currently, I provide branding to anyone who needs to add a spark to their product. Whether you're looking for a brand for your new business, a personal logo, custom stationary or an artsy invitation, I would be happy to provide you with any and all of your graphic design needs.

My name is Paige, and I am a born and raised Memphian.  My school background and true passion is interior design, though I love good design in any capacity.  Though interior design is my first love, I also love to sew, woodwork, doodle, and paint things, but most of all, I love to create beautiful things.  This passion for creating was instilled in me in my elementary years by my grandmother who patiently modeled her flair for creativity in everything she did: from her clever gifts (like the magic wand made out of dollar bills) to even at 85 years old having themed art classes for some of her 35 grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Patiently she taught me how to flesh out my ideas into reality, like the time I had an idea in my head of a purse I wanted.  This led to her teaching me how to sew and later buying me my first sewing machine.  She still tells people how well I put in my first zipper.
Rarely does a day go by when I do not move a piece of furniture, make a new pillow or accessory, or change something in my house to make it “better.” I believe that you can find beauty wherever you are.  God is the Creator of everything beautiful, and I am made in His image, so I strive to make the fallen things in this world more beautiful.

My design motto is a quote by William Morris, “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”  I believe part of creativity is working with things you have, and being a good steward of God’s earth is reusing or repurposing old things, giving them a new life.

Hello there! My name is Amy and welcome to Boxwoods to Boudoirs. I am so glad you stopped by.
Here is a bit of background on me: I am a new wife, an accomplished cook, a designer and a photography stylist. I am passionate about my family (and dogs), cuisine, interiors, entertaining, exercise, travel and style. I grew up in Dallas, studied in Athens Ga., worked in New York City and then Birmingham and just moved to be with my husband in a small town in Georgia.
As a little girl I spent many an afternoon creating “potions” in my mom’s kitchen or clearing out her bookshelves (or any other piece of furniture, for that matter) to design Barbie apartments and homes. So, needless to say cooking and interior design have been something that I have adored my entire life.
Hopefully, Boxwoods to Boudoir can be a glimpse into our design obsessions, tricks of the trade, at home creations and inspirations. And as the five of us start this new journey together, I hope to share my entertaining advice, new recipes I try and design tips with you. Stay tuned!

Hello, I'm Jill, born in Atlanta Georgia, daughter of Nell (Mimi) and Jack, baby sister of three girls, grew up Methodist and now a Presbyterian, wife, mother of two, plein air painter and "scavenger with a good eye" as my friends say. The "good eye" must be genetic as my descendants were filled with an appreciation of doing and creating.

I spent years of summer vacations and holidays crafting, painting, sewing, planting pansies and cooking with my grandmother Nina" "Beautiful" and her sisters Big Nell, Louise "Ease a Besa" and Fanny Bell... I would beg to spend weeks with them, who wouldn't want to go to arts and crafts paradise and all of those hot summer nights sitting on the porch making teeth out of watermelon rinds...  anyway...  My other Great Aunt Mary and her sister Florence were exquisite hand seamstresses. My family has quite a collection of hand sewn petite pants, slips, hankies etc... not sure I got that gene... the only negative thing my mother ever said to me while working with my hands was "you are a messy sewer; always in a hurry"  Well, she was right, I really just wanted to move on to the next project, but I did make some descent Barbie and Ken clothes with Big Nell's help and at 16 I sewed a neat black cape and embroider a red spider web on the back, hippy stage. Oh by the way, she, my mother Mimi, was a beautiful seamstress and made all of our dresses to match.
Well, just a short snippet of background history. My husband and I live in Southwest Georgia on the Chattahoochee River and currently have three black labs.  We have recently downsized getting rid of "stuff" in hopes to help the children out when we are gone. BUT, as my dear sweet can't quite get the shopping thing husband says "why did you buy that... we are trying to get rid of things and we must have something like it". The scavenger will never stop!!

My love of accessories is genetic.  I’m Jill’s daughter and even before I could appreciate art, clothing, and the intersection of the two, she was dragging me through the streets and shops of New York City on nearly annual trips.  Her drawers full of colorful jewelry, and my grandmother’s bedroom wall covered in scarves have influenced my own collections of each.  For years, Mimi’s friends have said she always looks like a “work of art". I hope by the time I’m 80-something, people will be saying the same about me.  In the meantime, my wardrobe consists of mostly solid colors, jazzed up by fun earrings, necklaces, bracelets, scarves, belts, scarves worn as belts, headbands, and colorful flats (if I can find them narrow enough to fit my pencil feet). Just ask my husband, who is constantly questioning my need for another pair of earrings… I love to accessorize!
As a college counselor at an all-girls school, I am surrounded by teenage girls who inspire my sense of style as well as the things I choose to create.  Lately, I’ve made picture frames, jewelry frames, and bulletin boards, perfect for a college dorm room.  I enjoy making or repurposing items to organize and display accessories, which can be art even when not being worn.  I’m always into some sort of craft project – my main problem is actually finishing the things I start.  Like painting and hanging those mirrors for our bathroom we remodeled six months ago… Maybe next week?  I look forward to sharing with you some of my world in Memphis, TN and being motivated by my fellow bloggers!
